Hi, everyone! This is the first post here. I’ll introduce myself, then introduce this site. I’m excited to begin daily coverage here later this Fall!

About Me

My name is Matt Bagley, and I am an experienced multimedia journalist in Oregon. As a former radio announcer, I covered a variety of sporting events across our state, and established friendships with players and coaches at every level of women’s basketball. As a podcaster I’ve interviewed a wide range of high profile guests across the world of sports. As a sportswriter I’ve connected with fans and covered sports stories that move our state.

As a fan, I fervently believe in women’s sports. I’ve sat alongside tens of thousands of starry-eyed Ducks fans packed into Matthew Knight Arena to watch Sabrina Ionescu. I shed tears with overjoyed Beavers fans celebrating last Spring’s unexpected ticket to the Big Dance. I’m a proud Portland Thorns season ticket holder and 107IST member, screaming my voice hoarse in support of one of the world’s greatest women’s soccer clubs.

I’ve seen how passionate we all are for our teams, and this site is intended to be an outlet for Portland’s most passionate Portland Fire supporters.

When I’m not writing here, I am extremely passionate about connecting with other Portlanders who are queer, gender-positive, neurodivergent, or disabled.
