On the same day that Portland’s WNBA expansion franchise announced two cornerstone additions to their media relations department, the team also announced several newcomers to the business side of the front office.

The biggest name of note is new Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service, Kyle Burns. 

Burns’ sports business career began in 2013, as a ticket rep for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves. After two years there, he pivoted to the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, where he worked from May 2015 through January 2018. Burns followed that stint with a leadership position running the ticket sales staff for the G-League’s Iowa Wolves, and most recently served as the Senior Director of Ticket Sales & Service for the New York Liberty.

Earlier this week, Burns hinted at today’s announcement after openly sharing several job openings in the team’s ticket office. 

In addition to Burns, the franchise also announced the addition of Alondra Gamez-Carrera as E-Commerce Customer Service Manager, and the promotion of Keana Delos Santos to Manager of Business Operations & Special Projects.

So far, the Fire’s ticket sales have been a roaring success. In July, the Portland Fire announced that over 12 thousand season ticket deposits had been placed.
